How to terminate/remove Skype update permanently

Accept you ever wonder why the Skype programmer wanted this program up-to-date?

The reason is to remove some minor bugs and to make the program perform better.

Only the result after updating is that information technology only leads to a lagging video when using the Video Call feature, it's also lag when typing text at the message box when using video telephone call. This is based on my experience upon using this programme.

Aside from that, there's an abrasive popup that keeps on reminding the user to update the plan whenever they have an available updates. Damn!

Here we become.

1. Sign-in your business relationship.

two. Close the update notification popup (if there's any).

3. So go to Tools > Options then select Advanced tab.

four. Select "Automated updates"(1), click "Turn off automatic updates"(2) button and click "Save"(3) button. Run into the picture below.

5. Sign-out.

6. Get to Commencement > type cmd then right-click & select "Run as administrator".

7. Blazon "sc delete SkypeUpdate" without the quotes. Run into picture beneath.

8. Go to Beginning > type %temp% and press Enter.
9. Search and delete the file "SkypeSetup.exe". See picture below.

10. Lastly, and this is the most important part! Before doing the steps below, be sure that your UAC(User Account Control) slider has been set to "Never".

Go to Run > type "%systemroot%\System32\drivers\etc\" without quotes.
Open notepad.exe then drag & drop the file named host.
Add together these text "127.0.0.ane download.skype.com" below the concluding line of your host file.
Save and Go out. Done!
Note: You tin can't download Skype manually by using this technique!
If you want to download from download.skype.com in the future, you demand to remove this line from the hosts file. Or else, use either of the procedures below.

Go to Run > type regedit.
Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Policies
Right-click on Policies then select New > Cardinal then blazon "Skype", without quotes.
Right-click on newly created Skype key and so select New > Cardinal then type "Phone", without quotes.
Right-click on newly created Phone subkey then select New > "DWORD (32-scrap) Value" then type "DisableVersionCheck", no quotes.
